PentaRideX — Terms and Conditions (User)

Welcome to PentaRideX. By using our app, website, smart locks, or rental services, you agree to the terms below.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using PentaRideX services, you agree to follow these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
2. User Eligibility
- You must provide accurate information during registration.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Service Description
PentaRideX provides:
- Cycle booking and rental services
- Smart lock access for registered users
- Digital payments and wallet features
- Ride tracking and booking management
Service availability may vary by location and time.
4. Booking Rules
- Bookings must be made through the official app or website.
- Users must start and end rides within their booked time slot.
- Late returns may result in extra charges (see Late Return & Penalty Policy below).
- Admin approval may be required before ride start in some cases.
5. Payments and Wallet
- All payments must be made through approved methods.
- Wallet balance is non-transferable and non-refundable unless required by law.
- Incorrect or failed transactions should be reported immediately.
- Default slot price: 20৳ per hour slot. Prices may vary as set by admin.
- Merged-slot offers: Booking consecutive slots may be eligible for a discounted combined price (e.g., 2 consecutive slots = 30৳ instead of 40৳). Offer pricing is displayed at the time of booking and is subject to change.
5a. Late Return & Penalty Policy
To ensure fairness for all users, a late-return penalty applies if you do not return the key on time:
- Grace period: You have 5 minutes after your slot ends to return the key without penalty.
(Example: slot 11:00–12:00 → return window is 11:55–12:05; no charge if returned by 12:05.)
- Penalty rate: 5৳ per 5-minute block of lateness beyond the grace period.
(Example: returned at 12:10 = 5 minutes late → 1 block = 5৳ penalty.)
- Maximum penalty: 20৳ per slot, regardless of how late the return is.
- Automatic deduction: The penalty is automatically deducted from your wallet when the admin approves the ride end. You will receive an in-app notification with the penalty amount.
Penalty schedule summary:
- Returned within grace period (0–5 min after slot end): 0৳
- 1–5 minutes past grace: 5৳
- 6–10 minutes past grace: 10৳
- 11–15 minutes past grace: 15৳
- 16+ minutes past grace: 20৳ (maximum)
6. Smart Lock & OTP Security
- OTPs and unlock codes must not be shared with others.
- Users are responsible for any misuse caused by sharing access.
- Attempting to bypass security systems is strictly prohibited.
7. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Ride safely and follow traffic rules
- Handle cycles and locks carefully
- Not damage, modify, or tamper with equipment
- Return cycles in proper condition
Key & Cycle Liability
- Once the cycle key is handed over to the user and the lock is opened, the user becomes fully responsible for the cycle.
- The user must return the key properly after the ride ends.
- Any damage, loss, or mechanical issue occurring from the time of key handover until the key is returned will be the user's responsibility.
- The user is obligated to pay all applicable fines, repair costs, or compensation charges.
- Failure to pay dues may result in legal action under applicable laws.
Users are liable for damage caused by negligence or misuse.
8. Prohibited Activities
Users must not:
- Use the service for illegal activities
- Share accounts with others
- Hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform
- Provide false booking or payment information
9. Service Suspension
PentaRideX may suspend or terminate accounts if users:
- Violate these terms
- Misuse equipment
- Engage in fraudulent activity
10. Limitation of Liability
PentaRideX is not responsible for:
- Accidents caused by rider negligence
- Loss of personal belongings
- Temporary service interruptions
11. Privacy
User data is collected and processed to:
- Provide services
- Improve platform performance
- Ensure safety and security
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
12. Changes to Terms
PentaRideX may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated Terms.
